MILAN TO LONDON
PUNKS WEAR PRADA

I am very excited to tell you about my new club night "Punks Wear Prada" in London at the Soho Revue Bar. I initially begun the night in Milan, and so I thought the name was fitting, an fun ironic take on the fashion! PWP as I abbreviate it really is a night dedicated to POP music, and when I say pop music I don't mean cheesy radio hits, I mean great songs that make you wanna dance and sing along too. After years promoting clubs, I was getting bored of how serious the club industry was becoming, and realized that ultimately what you want to happen when you go out to a club is have a few drinks and let your hair down and dance.
I run the night with my friends and PWP team, Tom Travis, Callum Turner and my boyfriend Aaron Wrigley. I met all the guys in Milan while they were modelling, and we just all got on really well, Tom begun DJ'ing weekly for PWP in Milan and this summer we thought we should launch a London party.

Punks Wear Prada is every Tuesday from 22.30 - 3.00. £3 Before 11 £5 After.
L'AUTRE CHOSE
ROME STORE OPENING

Last week I travelled down to Rome to DJ at a very special opening, the first signature store for delightful shoes & accessories brand L'Autre Chose. Rome was divine, so was the location of the new store, set right in the heart of the historic centre, only a few tip toes away from the romantic Piazza Navona. Rome is breathlessly beautiful, with it's tiny dark streets, lit only by the lights of busy trattoria's, I had forgotten about how enchanting it was.
The event which was attended by Roman VIP's, press and friends begun around 6.30pm, under huge tents, I played sweet sounds from 60's girl bands, from the Ronettes to the Supremes. Cocktails and Italian Prosecco (sparkling white wine) per served plenty alongside tiny sandwiches.
As I heated up the DJ set, the weather became more tempestous, having rained earlier in the day, it decided to pour as Tears For Fears 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' roared song out load. We all huddled into the elegant bar next door, where the atmosphere was equally Roman - lively & affolato (crowded). The event was organized by Boccacini, who distribute L'Autre Chose in Italy, and a special thanks goes to Manuela Massa who made it all happen!

HALLOWOOD - THE WEDDING
PART TWO - MILANO

Milan residents and close friends fashion photographer Gianpaolo Sgura & stylist Miguel Arnau, decided to launch a annual theme party for close friends. The theme of the party (launched last year) is Hallowood!  A kind of contemporary vision of twisted Hollywood. An adoration for all it's glamour and importance, and yet an ability to see the humor and should I say funny side of dressing up and being someone else for a night.

After last year's launch Hallowood is already in its second year the most sought after party invitation, everyone in Milan was talking about it, as the guest list grew tighter, people grew anxious. However more anxious were the getting together of the costumes! There was talk of those who had theirs tailor made, of people planning the outfit for over the course of a year, and hundreds to thousands of euros were invested into the party organisation and equally fantastic design by Hallowood patrons Giampaolo & Miguel.

Hallowood was once again fantastic and I think these photos say it all. Milan's hottest personalities looked as never before.

ANNARITA CELANO

Italian designer Annarita Celano's first womenswear collection is a dream haven of luxury and beauty. The Neapolitan designer who lives and works in Milan, spent two years creating a lavish evening wear collection , "I have invested everything, all my money and all my time" Celano confesses as a smile lights up her eyes, but she is proud of the results, and proud she should be.
Walking into Celano's studio, located in Milan's hippest Soho style development of Via Mecenate, I am bewitched as I come face to face with an array of sheer elegance, perfect cocktail dresses that Jackie O would have died for, embellished with hand woven embroideries and jewels, dashing babylonian ankle length evening gowns, hanging in deep golds and blues, pastels of caramel, pearl and marine, to rich reds, to make you breathless.

I just want to wear everything, adore it, watch over it, the combination between the feminine design the fabrics, and the colours complete my every desire for the ultimate timeless evening wear collection. "It was important that I make a collection using the highest quality fabrics to the top production, the workmanship is that of couture", Celano explains.

Annarita Celano begun her love affair with fashion and luxury at an early age when she produced a small couture collection bought by private clients while still based in Naples. "I was very busy and very in demand, it was a great time, but I was still young and wanted to explore other avenues". A decision that led her to London where she founded celebrity endorsement company called 'The Apartment', dressing stars such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue to Geri Halliwell. Two year later Celano decided it was time to begin work on her first signature collection and returned to Milan.

Annarita Celano has accomplished a lot, her collection is unique, sexy with a lot of class, and above all is alive with old school Hollywood glamour.

When It doesn't Shine!

Milan isn't famous for it's weather! Although one would assume being in Italy, that the sun should shine daily. Today in Milan the sun isn't shining, and it amazes me how much it makes me suffer. I actually can't stand the cold, or the grey gloom, which is sometimes the excuse I give to myself for not moving back to London. But then at least in Milan we do have seasons, so although we may be entering a period of gloom when we all set our clocks back yesterday, it wont last forever, and although Milan isn't the Caribbean, the sun does shine a lot and until today, I was hot every time I left my house. Still if I were to live somewhere that was hot everyday, I'd have to be in San Diego, or Sydney, or Costa Rica, and well they all seem so far........
Yet the cities that I love look something more like London, New York, Paris, Berlin, none of them famous for their weather. I guess you can't have a love affair without a struggle!
